The mural by French street artist Julien Mallad better known as Seth Globepainter made for the underground station Piazza di Spagna in Rome is a girl who is entering another dimension represented by colourful circles. In this painting is concentrated all his aesthetic. Globepainter takes inspiration from the environment in which he works. Travelling around the world, Seth makes artworks particularly connected to the tradition, culture and iconography of the place. He often chooses children as main characters and involves the locals letting them drawing in his work or photographing them in pose next to the murals, creating a dialogue between the painting and the reality. In his murals the figure’s face is often oriented to another direction encouraging us to look at the colourful space where the child is looking at. In his message there is a political and social meaning but it’s covered by the jolly atmosphere made by the brightness of the colours and the wealth of the details.
