The collaboration between street artists from around the world and the Dulwich Picture Gallery, represented by Ingrid Beazley, has created an important street art hub around Dulwich. The project is based on the reinterpretation of the classical Old Master Paintings, belonging to the Dulwich Picture Gallery, through the technique and the style of the street art. In Spurling Road, we can admire this massive mural by Irish street artist Conor Harrington which represents two men boxing. This artwork is inspired by the violent themes illustrated in the masterpieces of the gallery. Harrington, in this case, works with a black and white colour palette, playing with shades. He creates a precise surface and texture which is based on the alternation between obscured and revealed parts of the human beings. This solution makes his art an incredible fusion between street art and realistic paintings.
