“Canine-Feline” by Fin DAC in Brick Lane, London

Irish street artist Fin DAC is known for ethnic female portraits with a splash of colour around the eyes. He uses a special technique: starting from a stencil as template to create the outlines, he paints freehand with aerosol the details. This solution gives to his portraits intense shade and ecstatic look. Central of his work is the idea that art has to be aesthetic, away from any political and social meaning but a media to embellish the world. Following this concept, Fin paints beautiful women with stylish clothes and particular makeup and jewellery that leave traces of their heritage and their personal style. His intent is to represent the woman in her freedom of expression without any stereotype or prejudice as we see in the portrait realised for Brick Lane.
