“Leda e il cigno” by Ninja and Bue2350 in Florence, Italy

In the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence, there are no so many spaces destined to the street art. One of the big mural we can find in the city is situated on the wall in front of Fortezza da Basso. This artwork is part of a project Graffiti culture promoted by Riot Van Association that wants to get civic awareness through the creation of artistic and cultural activities. “Leda e il cigno” is made by two artists Ninja and Bue2530 as a modern version of the Greek myth in which the god Zeus, in the form of a swan, seduces Leda. This is a subject that was painted by different artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo and Tintoretto. In this case, Leda is a sensual woman with the body covered in tattoos who is completely abandoned on the swan. In Florence the street art finds its way of expression always keeping the deference and the connection with the history and the culture of the city.
